ONE IN EVERY FIVE KIDS IN CHATHAM COUNTY IS FOOD INSECURE

Starting September 9th, we'll be talking about overcoming challenges in our community and in our own lives. We'll hear the story of a boy who defeats a giant to save his nation. And together we'll join the fight against the giant of childhood hunger in Chatham as we partner with local schools and agencies who are working to make sure no kid goes to bed hungry over the weekend.

Come be a part of this.

JOIN US ON SEPTEMBER 9TH

Chatham Community Church is a contemporary, non-denomination community committed to engaging our world for good by connecting people to God and to each other. We've been serving Chatham County for over a decade and love this place.

One Church in Two Locations

We currently have two campuses in Chatham County, both with live music and teaching on Sunday mornings.

North Chatham

9:15 and 10:45am on Sundays

This campus meets a Woods Charter School (click here for directions)

Pittsboro

9:15 and 10:45am on Sundays

This campus meets at our Chatham Mills Ministry Space (click here for directions)

BACKPACK PROGRAMS

All throughout Chatham County concerned parents, educators, and community members provide backpacks of food to children so they have food to eat over the weekends. From our initial conversations, these programs struggle with the following four issues:

  • Funding

  • Storage

  • Shopping

  • Distribution

We believe that, together, we can find creative solutions to help them. And we'd like you to join us.

SMALL GROUPS

Our primary way of engaging with the Backpack Programs will be through our network of small groups. We currently have 20+ small groups throughout Chatham County who will gather weekly (starting Sept 16th) for friendship, Bible Study, and service.

Each small group will link up with a Backpack Program to find creative ways to boost the efforts of each school. We currently intend to begin with a few schools, discover best practices for support, and expand our support to the rest of the programs in the county.
